Putignano
Famous in all the world for its Carnival, located in the heart of the Murge among picturesque Trulli and attractive caves, Putignano is a thriving agricultural and industrial centre and it is well-known for companies making wedding-dress.
Walking on the ancient village, you can arrive at the foot of the Sedile, particular building where there is the characteristic clock of the bell tower of the wonderful Chiesa Matrice dated 1575. If you continue on the same way you can find Palazzo del Balì.
The architectural and historical property is enhanced by several farms. Among the most important ones there are Masseria S. Nicola, Masseria Riccardi, Masseria Monterosso, Masseria di Cristo, Masseria Montelli.
Besides Putignano area presents a lot of caves where recently some important archeological finds were discovered. 500 meters past the urban territory there is the Grotta del Trullo and along the provincial road going to Gioia del Colle, there is another important cave: the Grotta della Madonna delle Grazie.
